music vdeo Critical Reflection Questions

 1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?

To start in my project i spent my time using the convection that music videos are fast to make my music video to be about a racing project i wanted to make the video fast to reflect this in the best way that i could. Its just that my problem was that there was no way that i could do this correctly because of the fact that i was not able to get anyone to film the entire video while i was moving the car so i needed to find a way do it myself  i tried to use the rod but i decided to use a charger cord that i made into a little rod to move it it may have not been fast but it got the job done. I also used the convection that video game music are from you know games so i decided to make the race course like a little game instead or regular old race tracks i used an easier to make arrow with some little obstacles that take away points that's why at the final area in my video has the driver be rated an A- for getting hit by traps. Speaking of traps i found them to be a great thing to use mainly because of the fact that in games especially racing games they are used a lot so i added a lot of them using that convection in my music video i found it to be a great addition as it also made the video longer so i could make it about 60 seconds. While i believe that i did my best when i was using the convections that video game music have i don't think i did well with challenging them mainly because of how using these convections are good because they make people think of their best experience with that said music or genre. The only way that i think i challenged convections was making the grade at the end of my music video be an A- mainly because when showcasing something in a game usually at the end the player gets a perfect score i wanted to make the video make sense with the player actually getting repercussions for his behavior so that is what i was trying to do. In my video i do not believe that i was representing any social group when making this video but if i need to try i guess it could be people that play video games that could be a group that this video represents with the music as well as the music videos concept being about video games. One of the things that i cant do is say that it represents any social issue my video is made to be light hearted fun not to lecture anyone about any issue that the world is currently experiencing so I'm sorry to disappoint but i could not deliver on that notion.

2. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text?

It engages with audiences by replicating an activity that a majority of Americans experience it shows a game in where people need to just complete all the obstacles and get to the end a regular video game experience that many people have experienced. Another way that it engages with the audience is that it could be used as a way to show them how school projects can be used to induce and increase creativity in children and i a way could be a great learning experience not only for kids who want to learn film making but for kids who want to create regular art as well. As in a real world media text in the real world my music video would most likely be seen as a fan project for a racing game, an add similar to those mobile game adds that appear before you watch an online video or would become a small easy to make addicting game that is what would most likely happened if my music video racing stage with more digital and polished. Another way would to just keep the cheep aspect to the race track to make it have some sort of unique premise in where the tracks get more better or professional when you progress but that's just what i believe my product could become in a real media text.

3. How did your production skills develop throughout this project?

This is one of the projects i have put the most effort into since ive ever began school mainly because i usually do things early but thanks to the current pandemic my productions skills have dropped but it is currently improving thanks to these projects. I improved in making more effort to complete a project then i did with my commercial project i had to draw a lot of stuff for this project and wasted a lot of materials but in the end i did just enough to finish the music video on time. I improved with my editing with me being able to learn how to cut parts of my video in a more effective manner with this i was able to finish my music video project in the way i wanted to having the car move back to the start to show how the car lost a life when he went into the bombs. Then i added more traps around every single obstacle except that last one that the car jumped over to save time i learned how to make the project more unique then i originally wanted to make it in my original storyboard. I also learned how to edit in custom music into my videos even though it took me a long time to realizing that i wasted so much time on apps and installations that i needed to pay for it was still a good thing that i learned what i needed to do. I was glad that i learned that i was already able to do that with my computers natural video editor so i lowered the volume completely on the two different video clips and then edit them together and finally created a different project to add in the music and then made it less then 60 seconds that's how i improved.

4. How did you integrate technologies – software, hardware and online – in this project?

I mainly used my phone to film the project multiple times to try to get the best takes so i could be able to edit both of them together it took me a long time to get the right angles and the right images into the film in enough time to not go over 60 seconds but i did do it. And next i used my computer to find a way to edit the film taken from my phone so i went to research a way to do it for free by searching on google and then searching for a video on YouTube to try to find a way that i can figure it out. Eventually i did by using my actual video maker like i discussed I'm my previous answers it was mainly an accidental discovery but it is one that was helpful and one i will use for future projects that's how i integrated technology.
