Genre research action and comedy

 

Hello there, my name is pascal bazile and the current project that I an trying to complete is the same as my first project but me needing to do two different genres instead of one. choosing two different genres was difficult because there where many different genres that exist in the film industry, but I believe that I might have found the best genres for me to do. I personally want the genres that I would pick to be very easy to do and to be very easy to categorize and the genres that I personally found was the action genre that exist a lot in the current age and the comedy genre. The action genre is old as well as sometimes more serious than the comedy genre it is also way to common nowadays so with that there are many sources of info on it making it easy to make. And the comedy genre is vast and Transends its own genre to team up with many different genres the ones that I found out in my last genre was horror comedy is a great genre. In action films since most of them have a lot of drama or serious themes with a bit of comedy they mostly use the camera angles composing of low angles, Dutch angles, birds eye view, eye level as well as high angles. All these different editing styles are usually used to emphasize how serious the situation is or how funny a stupid joke is but for me personally most jokes are not actually funny. In comedy films the camera angles that are used are a lot more normal those being zoom either in or out, low and high angle shots, Dutch angles, normal angles and tracking shots as well they are used comedically or to make a certain action or line funnier. Next is editing the editing in action movies is usually very fast so they are usually filled with shot/reverse shot, eyeline shot, action match, jump cuts, cutaway shots, slow motion, Post-production and Visual effects, some rare long shots and Ellipsis as well as Expansion of Time. Editing In comedy films are also fast they as well are also filled with shot/reverse shot, eyeline shot, action match, jump cuts, cutaway shots, slow motion but unlike action they add short takes but very rarely. In comedy movies they also have a rare addition of these different editing techniques, superimposition, Post-production and Visual effects, and a lot of crosscutting but action films could do those as well. Next is the hardest sound in action films are usually very loud I could list them as diegetic and nondiegetic sound, sound motif, dialogue voiceovers, mode of address and rarely direct access, musical scores, themes, Incidental music, stings and ambient sound. In comedy movies the sound that is usually used is diegetic and nondiegetic sound, sound motif, dialogue voiceovers, mode of address and direct access, Incidental music, musical scores, stings and ambient sound. Some examples of action films would not be hard to find because they are everywhere so here is a small list of ones, I’ve watched inception, every marvel movie, every dc movie tenet, fast and furious franchise, maze runner, baby driver, Kingsman, john wick and many more. I have not watched a lot of comedies but there are some, coming to America, thor Ragnarök, Jumanji, both Deadpool movies, Superbad, hot fuzz, airplane! Monty python and the holy grail and again many more. The things I like in action movies are well the actions the fights the great choreography that are sometimes there in some other situations the good writing and compelling characters even if they are rare as well as the best thing in action movies the music. The things I dislike are mostly some bad acting terrible CGI and special effects how unrealistic some fights could be if they are based in a realistic setting as well as when the fights get interrupted by other characters. For comedies I never really liked them I guess I rarely enjoy the jokes as well as some great characters but sometimes when comedies are intertwined with horror movies, I enjoy seeing the funny ways some of the stupid characters die. The things I hate in comedies are bad characters very lazy jokes and sometimes the very bad writing most of the time when in watching comedies I don’t laugh or even react to anything positively in the end comedy movies mostly make me very bored.
